How to build self confidence at work is what many people wonder about. I use to think, I was alone until I meet someone who could not have the confidence to his name. The ability to be very convincing when you speak, talk about a theory or address a delegation of people is where self confidence is engraved. Confidence and hard work are the pills that kill the disease called failure. Confidence creates boldness. Boldness wins the big price for you. The big price creates more confidence.

Be eager to know or learn something


You should never be satisfied with what you know. Learn to dig deeper and acquire more knowledge in your field and be versatile. Acquire more skill in your field and be ready to challenge yourself, do all you can to be the best in your field. When you are a god at what you do it helps to build your self-confidence and nobody can talk you down or make you feel inadequate. Increase your knowledge and be the best at what you do. Be curious about your field and get to know more.

Ask question


To be confidence in your job you have got to ask questions. Lots of questions! As much as, self-confidence is important, it is also important that you ask questions when necessary. Do not assume you know it all and make a mess of yourself. Ask question when you need to. It could be from your superior or sub ordinate. It is very important to know was capability and work at that paste.

Nobody is above mistake


Accept that everybody makes mistake and that nobody is an Island of knowledge. Don’t beat yourself up when you make mistakes, learn from your error and correct and try again. It is good that you try and fail than not to try at all. When you do something, don’t be too conscious of being a perfectionist, do your best and trust God for the rest.

Criticism, Knock it off


Learn to bounce the critics. It is possible to be criticized but how you respond to criticism matters a lot. Learn to turn criticism into motivation to do more. People are natural going to criticize but how you respond to it will make a big difference.

Positive attitude


Surround yourself with positive people. Find people who will boost your self-confidence. Be a role model of positive attitude, believe in yourself, tell yourself I am enough and don’t just say it believe in what you say and see it work for you. It all about seeing things positively and believing that everything is going to turnout well.

Develop yourself


Self-development is very important to boost your self-confidence. Train yourself.  Take up a class, an online class. Take up a responsibility that helps to boost your confidence. Read books, attend seminars, visit recreational centers, learn more from nature. Take time out to train yourself.

Know your strength and weakness


Identify your strength and capitalize on them, know what you are very good at and do well to take chance and to gain advantage from it. Also, identify your weaknesses and work on them, don’t allow your weakness to bring you own it is important that you work on them and ensure it is transformed into a functional strength.

Be focused


Stay focused on you, don’t get distracted. At times your confidence can be threatened don’t lose focus. Still believe in yourself and trust your gut. It is normal for you to be talked down on but you reaction and response makes a big difference.

Say it


Speak out your opinion in meetings. You are building your confidence because at least you can get feedbacks on your viewpoint and adjust where needed. I’m not saying that you should say just anything that comes to your mind but learn to filter and say what is relevant and correct.

Defend Others


Yes, defend other people when they are maltreated, abused or insulted unjustly. Research has shown that the more you defend others, the more you grow your own confidence. Be an advocate of people’s rights. You do not need to be a lawyer to be an advocate. Have to courage to demand that someone else be treated well. Speak and request that a colleague be recognised for an achievement. This is a sure way to grow your confidence in your job.
