John Daly Wins PGA Tour For The First Time On American Soil Since 2004

The American Professional golfer John Daly is the latest winner of the PGA Tour after he has waited for over a decade. His victory has raised praises even from the American President Trump.

In what you may see as a bad finishing the golf pro, Daly was able to close the three straight closing bogeys sunday to hang on for his first PGA Tour Champions title.

Donald Trump, took to his Twitter account to congratulate. In the presidents view, John Daly is a great guy who never gave up. And you know that's good for John.

In his reply to the president, John Daly took to his Twitter account and tweeted "Thank you Mr. President & also doing such a great job for our country! Means a lot! #winning."

While speaking about his victory, Daly said "It wasn’t pretty at the end". “But I got it done and that’s all that matters.”

The PGA Tour winner was Wearing American flag pants, Daly shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 14-under 202 and earned $322,500. He opened with rounds of 68 and 65 to take a one-stroke lead over Kenny Perry into the final round.

Friends and colleagues of John Daly, were around to pop and spray their own man with champagne.

“A win is a win, man,” he said. “And I didn’t think it would come this soon.” Daly said.

Meanwhile, this is the first win in the United States for John since he won the PGA tour's 2004 Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines near San Diego. And winning the PGA Tour Champions is a very good plus to him.

When asked about how he wants to celebrate his victory, Daly said “I just want a Miller Lite,” "That's all I want."

The Golf Pro John Daly has had his moments at The Woodlands. He had four top-10 finishes in 15 appearances when the Shell Houston Open was played at the course, including a playoff loss to Vijay Singh in 2005. Daly tied for 17th at his first PGA Tour Champions event last May.
