House Approves Obamacare Replacement Bill, Trump's Legislative Victory

The Obamacare replacement bill has been approved as the House hands the US President, Trump, his most significant legislative victory so far as an American President. With a small margin vote victory of 217 - 213, House Republicans just managed to approve their health care bill. This has now helped trump fulfill his campaign promise of upending Obamacare.

In his victory speech, Trump,  “I went through two years of campaigning, and I’m telling you no matter where I went people are suffering so badly with the ravages of Obamacare,” as he was heard saying. “This is a repeal and replace of Obamacare. Make no mistake about it.” Trump made a promise as he said "We're going to get this finished". Still speaking in a sort of victory gathering filled with Republicans congressional allies, the president promised premiums and deductibles will be "coming down", also stating that the Affordable Care Act is "essentially dead".

In the House, all Democrats voted against the Obamacare replacement bill. This action was from the reasons that it would jeopardize coverage. Although this was not enough to stop the Republicans.

In trying to clear the Obama administration's print domestic policy law, the approval of the of the Obamacare replacement bill can be regarded as their one bold step.

Vice President Pence while cheering the result said "Welcome to the beginning of the end of ObamaCare".

Furthermore, the Speaker of the House Paul Ryan who referred to Obamacare as a "failed experiment" stated that "A lot of us have been waiting seven years to cast this vote".

The Obamacare replacement bill was approved to give way to the GOP plan. To this effect, Health Secretary said "What we want to do is have a seamless system, not pull the rug out from anybody'. He also made claims suggesting that the proposal would ensure people with pre-existing conditions remain covered.

Conclusion, the American Health Care Act (AHCA) which has been approved in the House with a 217-213 vote, will head to the Senate. The battle there will be a stiff one as it is clear that the republicans have only a small majority in the Senate. Now lets see if the Obamacare replacement bill will also be approved by the Senate or not.
